The Hot Box is the product of a cooperation between the cooking collective Healthy Boy Band (Philip Rachinger, Lukas Mraz and Felix Schellhorn) and the agency friendship.is as part of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024. The focus is on an inter-cultural rethinking and revival of host culture, as a place of social interaction and in particular as a mobile training center for catering professions in the area of tension between image problems and a shortage of skilled workers in the sector.
What is there? sausage. And why? Because it doesn't just matter anyway. Because it's actually about a lot more than what's on the plate. And that is what the Healthy Boy Band stands for, which serves sausage in Traunkirchen on April 13, 2024; in the Hot Box Building, where the traditional Japanese omakase concept meets cutting-edge sausage stand architecture. By the way, omakase translates as “I'll leave it up to you” and refers to the fact that the choice of food is entirely up to the host and is freshly prepared at the bar in front of the guest. A decisive element of omakase is the element of surprise with which the chef amazes the guest.

Our supporting program on April 13, 2024 in Traunkirchen:
There is to a Erlas Studio and Gallery in close proximity to the HOT BOX BUILDING. On April 13, the gallery will open the doors to its exhibition space. Drinks are available on site for a leisurely break.
On the other hand, there is — just within walking distance of HOTBOX — the artistic intervention of Xenia Lesniewski: the so-called Apocalypso doomsday bar (Traunkirchen Ort train station). Xenia serves a digestive there - depending on your wishes - 2cl dystopia or a shot of anxiety maybe?
The bar was created as an artistic intervention as part of the Artists Residencies project “Salt Lake Cities STOPs and stations” at the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 in cooperation with ÖBB IMMO GmbH and ÖBB INFRA.
Just as worthwhile: A visit to Church in Traunkirchen Abbey with its over 1000 years of history, or a walk on the Johannesberg chapel. Located on the top of Odinstein, you have a breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding area. Or maybe on ice cream to Seecafé Johannsberg (Ortsplatz 13)?
After your visit to the HOT BOX BUILDING, we cordially invite you to stay there and visit and visit the wonderful places in the area.
If you still want to take some time, we recommend staying at the nearby Seehotel “Das Traunsee” with award-winning chef Lukas Nagl.
