The Capital of Culture provides an impetus to revive the disappearing tavern culture in the countryside. With representatives from top local and European gastronomy as well as art and culture, themed get-togethers are initiated, taverns are invigorated and tavern laboratories are convened in tourism and vocational schools. Especially for the Capital of Culture, the artistic-performative cooking collective Healthy Boy Band (Lukas Mraz, Philip Rachinger, Felix Schellhorn) developed the “HOT BOX BUILDING” in cooperation with friendship.is, a mobile installation that works in the form of culinary interventions and performances at various locations and activates them for a certain period of time: in the town center next to abandoned taverns, on the lake in front of the picturesque mountain panorama, directly in the field at the producers or in the abandoned industrial building as an ambassador for the cause.
