THE DEVIL'S BATH
Drama, A 2024

The film takes you to Upper Austria in 1750 and gives women from rural backgrounds, the invisible and unheard of that time, a voice. For this, he has received 9 film awards so far and is Austria's current contribution to the next international Oscar.

A carp pond reflects the gray sky. A deep, dark forest absorbs sunlight. An executed person is displayed on a hill. As proof. As a warning. An omen? The deeply religious and highly sensitive Agnes looks at the dead woman with compassion. Even with longing, because she feels a stranger in the world of her husband Wolf. An emotionally cold world full of work and expectations. Agnes withdraws more and more. Her inner prison is becoming ever narrower, her melancholy is becoming ever more overwhelming.

THE OLD OAK
Social drama GB 2023

In a northern English mining community, the pub is the only meeting place for residents of the district, who are mostly unemployed and suffer from high rents. When the innkeeper opens the back room for Syrian refugees, the regular guests are angry — until prejudices are reduced through personal encounters.

A moving, critical and entertaining drama that pleads for tolerance and solidarity. In a semi-documentary, unagitated style, the film traces the living conditions of the characters and portrays the resentment of the locals as well as the fear of refugees.

RICKERL — MUSIC IS AT MOST A HOBBY
Comedy, A 2023

Vienna's Beisl is Rickerl's living room and stage: In thick cigarette smoke, he plays his way straight into the hearts of those who hang around there every night for a small allowance. However, his income is not even enough to go to the cinema with his son Dominik, whom he loves more than anything else. Rickerl usually stands in his own way — whether as a good father or as an ambitious musician. It is only when he runs the risk of losing his son that he realizes that he can no longer run away from himself.
